What will be covered?

This CISI accredited CPD session will be looking at building SMART objectives from the info in the file and provides 1.25 hours of endorsed CPD!

Do you ever feel like it’s a bit of a hunt trying to find SMART Objectives in fact find or file note? 🔎

Do you sometimes feel you need Sherlock Holmes level deducing powers to track down those client goals? 🕵️🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

Perhaps you think you have all the parts of the puzzle but you’re just not quite sure how they all fit together? 🧩

Quite often, all the info you need to build the clients’ SMART goals and objectives will be there but sometimes it can be a bit difficult to see the wood for the trees!

In this Sparrow Solutions Sandbox Session, we’ll be looking at how you can extrapolate the info from the Fact Find to build personalised, SMART objectives to use in your report.

There'll also be discussions and practical examples and exercises to help bring it to life and really cement your learning for the future.

And it’s going to be a Flash session – 90 minutes and we’re done – quick as a flash!

What are the learning objectives?

• To learn and understand how to identify SMART objectives using information in the Fact Find, File and Meeting notes

• To understand what is the difference between a Financial Planning goal and an investment objective

• To learn how to write SMART objectives in your report that are personalised to the client 

Who is this for?

This is a practical session giving help on how to do (one part of!) the paraplanning job itself!

It will be helpful to aspiring, new and trainee paraplanners, and existing paraplanners who are looking to refresh their knowledge.

It will also be helpful for new and existing financial planners wanting to brush up on writing SMART client objectives based on their conversations with clients, or for financial planners wanting to make sure sure they're providing the right info for their paraplanners to do so.

What's the event?

Since the pandemic there has been a huge rise in new outsourced paraplanners and paraplanning businesses.

It can be a great career choice, giving you freedom, independence and flexibility, but it is also hard work, can be stressful and even a little uncertain from time to time.

In this session, we'll be looking at the benefits of setting up on your own, but also we'll look at practical things to think about when setting up and, potential pitfalls to try and avoid.

Who's speaking? 

This session is hosted by Caroline Stuart founder of both Sparrow Paraplanning and Sparrow Solutions.  Caroline is a CISI Accredited Paraplanner and Chartered Member of CISI, and with over twenty years’ experience working in financial planning and paraplanning. She also has many years’ experience of training and mentoring paraplanners and financial planners.

Our special guest for the session is Kat Mock. Kat is the Founder and Director of Unity Paraplanning, which she set up in 2019.

Kat has been working in financial services for over 18 years, most of them as a paraplanner and senior paraplanner, she has vast experience of working in both in house and outsourced paraplanning.
